To assist with the preparation of your 2022 Tax Return, you can use our below checklist for individual returns or send through your work on the same platform you have in past years.
Changes for 2022 Tax Returns
Due to the ongoing pandemic the ATO have announced the additional items that can be claimed in the 2022 tax returns if you have been required to work from home. In order to correctly calculate these deductions we will require the following information:
- Hours per week working from home from 1/7/21 – 30/6/22. We are able to claim a deduction of $0.80 per hour. This shortcut method includes claims for utilities, cleaning, phone, internet, computer consumables and the decline in value for home office equipment and furnishings
- You will need to be able to substantiate the hours work from home. This could be by having time sheets, rosters, diary evidence or a similar document that sets out the hours that you have worked
We have included an additional section in Appendix 4 of the checklist to capture this information
- Crypto-currency investments are becoming notably more popular and must be reported as a capital gain. Please complete item 12 and Appendix 6 appropriately if this is relevant to you OR provide a tax report from your crypto platform showing profits and losses realised. If you cannot access a report we may have to utilise crypto platforms to analyse all your trades
Privacy Act Requirements
- Under the Privacy Act we must have your permission to email your tax return to you. Please acknowledge your approval on our checklist or by separate email with your information
